Donate Car to Giving Center charity.
We make it easy for vehicle owners to make car donations. Taking a tax deduction for your Charitable car donation isn't very different from any other gift to charity. However, car, vehicle and vessel donations are a little more complicated than most charitable contributions because the value of the car determines the form that must be filed with the IRS—and the value of the car can only be determined in a few specific ways. Keep in mind that a Charitable Organization should not determine the value. But there are a few ways we can help you here at the Giving Center realize the maximum financial benefit for your charitable donation that will help to benefit those who give and those in need. They include: Repurpose programs for donated gifts, retention and utilization for specialized vehicles, termed leases of vessels and vehicles to meet IRS significant intervening use requirements and more! YOU WILL NOT NEED AN APPRAISAL IF YOUR VEHICLE OR VESSEL IS SOLD!
Donating your Vehicle to the Giving Center is Easy! Enjoy Free Towing in all 50 States + a Fair Market Tax Deduction.
When you file your annual Tax return (Form 1040), you will need to itemize your deductions for your charitable gift deduction(s) to be counted. The Giving Center will provide you with an acknowledgement that describes the gift. That personal acknowledgement from the Giving Center must be filed with your Form 1040. Additional steps may be necessary as shown. If your car donation was worth less than $250, just keep a record of the gift in your files.
If your car donation was worth $250 to $500, just keep a record of the gift in your files and get an acknowledgement of the gift from the Giving Center. If your car donation was worth more than $500 but NOT more than $5,000, you will need to file a Noncash Charitable Contribution Form 8283 and complete Section A in addition to the previous form. If your car donation was worth more than $5,000, you will need to file a Noncash Charitable Contributions Form 8283 and complete Section B. A written appraisal of your car from a qualified appraiser is also required. No Charitable Organization is allowed to pay for this but the Giving Center can certainly help you find a friendly qualified appraiser to make this step painless.
